Theetka Rai Gives Us The Insider Scoop On Her Life As A Model, Video Vixen, And Influencer

Published

on

What is your favorite thing about being an influencer?

Influencing! I literally love how people dm me for my opinion. I get so many questions on skincare products, makeup products , health supplements, clothing brands and on so many other things. It’s such a wonderful experience knowing that i am influencing thousands and thousands of people everyday.

How did you get into modeling? Did you have help, or did you use your own platform to get into it?

Even before Instagram I was popular on facebook. I used to keep my Instagram account private until I hit 30k last November – that’s when I started using Instagram seriously. Talking about modeling, I have already acted in many songs and done ramp walks and this was all before using  Instagram. So my facebook actually helped me get into modeling and I started earning at 18 as well.

What is your most favorite shoot that you’ve ever been a part of?

All my shoots have been good, nothing favourite as such. But for my 21st birthday this November I am planning something really different and eye-catching, so hopefully I could answer this question after that shoot.

Do you do your own makeup for shoots?

Yes!  I am not perfect at it but I know my face, I know what looks good and what not. I learnt makeup through Jefree Star , Nikki Tutorials and James Charles videos, and now I am a self-certified MUA (yep! I am). I am a makeup junkie, I have been doing my makeup since I was 16, and now I am 20 and still, every damn time I get ready, I get excited to play and experiment with makeup.

What inspired you to want to become a lawyer?

Well my sister, Shweta, has always been my guardian. She is the one who decides everything I do , she knows me better than I know my own self. I was a science student and I used to hate-hate maths so she started looking at career options and thats when she stumbled upon “law”. I can cram for things and I am a debator ready to fight for my opinion. So my personality matches so much to that of a lawyer, that now I am ready to go through all the hard work that I have to do to become one.

You’ve said before that you’ve studied at 7 different schools…Which school or institution do you feel was most beneficial to you and furthered most your knowledge and career?

Doon International School  definitely. It was one of the most prestigious school at that time (even now). Students from many countries come to study there and my communication skills genuinely grew from there. Talking about Career, thats a thing that I decided upon during my graduation so my school had no role in it. The discipline, manner and quality education that my school has provided me has certainly lifted my knowledge and wisdom.

Do you have a favorite photographer to shoot with?

All the photographers that I have worked with were good. I have always focused on my shoot concepts and not too much on the skills of the photographer and I prefer working with any photographer whether he has 100 followers or 10000. I believe in uplifting who ever is associated with me.

Do you prefer to dress up even on days where you don’t have photoshoots, or do you prefer to wear more comfortable clothes on those days?

Even on casual college days I used to dress up on point. My teachers used to ask me if i’ve come for a fashion show or something. High heels, crop tops and too much makeup used to be my trademark. Be it a normal shopping day, coffee day or even gym I love dressing over the top and being extra. I am never too tired to look like a diva.

Do you have a favorite place that you’ve been to?

Dehradun. I have spent my childhood days in Dehradun. I get goosebumps whenever i recall those days and this city , its just so beautiful , green and mesmorising. The hills, the blue sky  and the fresh air describe the serenity and the holyness of Dehradun.

What do you want to be remembered as?

“She got what she wanted ” and “She lived her dreams”. I was literally no one until I befriended my sister, and she taught me to be someone.

Marina, Professional Photographer On The Rise To Fame

Published

on

Marina Williams is a professional photographer based out of Utah, USA. She specializes in portraits, fashion, couples, and weddings – But Marina is not your average photographer (or even average professional photographer), by any means.

It’s clear to see that Marina has an eye and a talent for photography – The photos even just featured on her Instagram @marinawphoto , all look like something out of a magazine, or million dollar advertisements.

How long have you been a professional photographer?

I’ve been running my business professionally for about five years.

Do you have a favorite type of shoot?

Shooting editorial fashion is definitely my favorite. I also love working with brands to create advertising content – most specifically, women’s clothing brands.

What is the farthest place you have travelled to do a photoshoot?

This summer I had a couple fly me to San Diego to shoot their engagements – It was probably one of my favorite experiences ever since starting my business.

What do you like most about photographing weddings and couples?

I love being the goofy third wheel – becoming friends with my couples along the way is how I end up getting the best photos. When my clients are comfortable with me, they act genuinely with each other and I’m able to capture their love story in a way that’s natural and fun. My goal is to make our shoot feel like a fun date, and when it does, it doesn’t ever feel like “work” to me.

What is your favorite part about being a photographer?

I’ve found that educating others is what brings me the most joy. I offer mentoring sessions to other photographers, and I also have started to make educational videos and guides. I love being able to teach others what took me so long to learn and help them in their own journey.

Do you like to edit your photos, or do you find that process to be not as fun as the actual shoots?

I love to edit my photos! Every morning (when I’m not out shooting) I make a cup of coffee, light a candle, listen to music and start editing. It almost feels like a ritual to me – being able to take raw photos and perfect them in a way to look magical and colorful is the second half of photography. I’d never outsource my editing (one reason is because I’m a control freak) but also because I love that part of it just as much as shooting.

Who inspires you the most as a photographer?

Rob Woodcox, Natasha Wilson, Jimmy Marbles, Cole Sprouse, Joelle Grace, and Nadine Ijewere are all huge inspirations for me.

What sparked your inspiration to get behind the camera in the first place?

My grandfather has always been into photography. When I was in middle school, he gave me his old 35mm film cameras and taught me how to use them. Soon after, I got a little point and shoot camera and took it everywhere with me, and this is where my love for photography grew.

What is your dream in life?

My ultimate dream and goal with photography is to be able to travel the world for work. I’d love to spend time between New York and LA shooting fashion and editorial campaigns for magazines and brands. I love all kinds of photography, but doing fashion full time would be the ultimate dream.

What do you want to be remembered by?

I want to be remembered as a photographer who’s work inspired others. Nothing makes my heart swell when I get messages from other beginning photographers telling me how they did a shoot like mine, or how my work made them inspired to create something. I think when people use their talent to create art, it makes the world a better place. If I can help do that somehow, I will feel like I succeeded.
